Something To Think About

The other day I was listening to a podcast/sermon, and this one verse jumped out at me as something to think about.

'For I do not mean that others should be eased and you burdened, but that as a matter of fairness your abundance at the present time should supply their need, so that their abundance may supply your need, that there may be fairness. As it is written, “Whoever gathered much had nothing left over, and whoever gathered little had no lack.”' (ESV)
2 Corinthians 8:13-15

For those that have plenty to give of what they have to those who have not is kind of a communist/socialist principle. I'm not saying the Bible advocates for those ideologies at all. But, it is advocating for a principle found within each ideology. So, maybe instead of outright condemning an idea as inherently evil, we as Christians should look at things biblically and live our lives according to scripture.

Let's let the Bible shape our ideologies and worldview instead of the other way around.
