Solid Bites: Why are you afraid of the Dark?

Solid Bites: Why are you afraid of the Dark?

'The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.' (ESV)
John 1:5

Take a good look at the cave pictured up above. Without the light shining in, that cave would be utterly dark. Now picture what would happen if a light source was brought into the cave. Those dark edges around the image, where the light from outside cant quite reach, would be gone and the cave would be full of light.

Is there anything that the darkness of that cave can do to fight against the light? I like to think I have a pretty good imagination, and I can't think of anything. Where light is present, it wins 100% of the time.

So, I must ask, if the light of Christ lives inside of us, why are Christians so utterly fearful of the darkness of the world overcoming us? Far too often I see Christians trying to solve issues in the world by fearfully using earthly means. Instead, we simply need to bring light to the darkness and the darkness doesn't stand a chance.

God Bless.
