Samson The Surveyor of Justice! Chapter 1
Awakening
Death isn't always the end. Sometimes, the end of one life is merely the beginning of another.
Samson, a Danite, died as the blind and broken King of Israel, underneath a pile of rubble. He awoke as the Surveyor of Justice with his new life among the stars.
"Wha- Where am I!? I was dead. How is it-? How- How is it that I was blind but now I see!?"
Samson laid in a dimly lit room on a cold slab of a dully polished alloy. He laid entirely naked except for a simple sheet to accommodate his modesty. His limbs were splayed to from a star and restrained in place. Hanging above Samson were instruments and machinery of unthinkable uses.
As Samson began to wake more from his eternal slumber, agitation kept pace with his consciousness as he became more and more aware of his bonds.
"What are these foul things!?" he said. In one swift motion, Samson's muscles contorted and the chains that held him disgraced the name of their maker.
"Good," a voice echoed in the mostly empty room. "You are awake and functioning better than anticipated."
Samson leapt up and spun to meet the eyes of his captor, but saw no one. "Is it you Lord?" he asked.
"I am your Lord, but I am not your God. He has placed you under my care for the time being."
"If it is His will that I serve you, than I will serve you with honor. I thought I was giving my life for His purpose. It seems He had other plans for me." Samson knelt and bowed his head in service to the disembodied voice.
"Yes. You were plucked from your demise and rebuilt with a second chance."
"I thank you. I will use it wisely."
A seamless chasm opened in one of the walls to a brightly lit hallway. "Continue on and you will find what this new life requires of you.
