Re: Five finger rule to choose what to read next
After's post inspired this whimsical reply.
go to a shelf and grab the first book your fingers gravitate towards (touching spines helps the finger magic work)
flip through the book placing each of your five fingers into different places
read each two page opening
for each section put a finger up for any 'ooo i like that' bits and a finger up if you reach the end of the section and want to turn the page (you may need an extra hand or two here)
after reading all five sections (ten pages) if you've raised five or more fingers you've found a book to read! congratz! if you have less than five fingers put the book back wiggle and shake those fingers (sometimes the magic likes to take a nap on you) and try again
