Publishing Books On Bear
If you hadn't heard, I've had a change of heart on monetization with this site.
Previously, I used Bookshop.org affiliate links with my reviews and utilized Ko-fi for collecting tips and providing pay-what-you-want ebooks.
Welp, now all of that is gone!
(The monetization, not the reviews or books.)
It feels pretty freeing actually.
However, that brings us to the title of this post.
I liked Ko-fi for hosting free books. I like offering my books for free because I'd rather someone get to read my work than not because of money or even the hassle of payment.
When I set up the Ko-fi stuff, I figured the image hosting on Bear was just for images.
Nope!
Any file works.
You just upload a .epub file, make the standard markdown link to it, and bam, one-click download links.
Now I can distribute free Epub files right here on Bear!
This feels like the pinnacle of indie publishing. And it's been staring me in the face the entire time.
