The Creative's Greatest Frustration
Being Creative Sucks Sometimes
I'm a creative. My creativity normally gets channeled into English text. But not all of my ideas involve writing.
I am (as are most people, imo) an idea factory. The vast majority of ideas that I have come in the form of stories or blog articles. I'm a writer. It makes sense. Those ideas I can handle.
But sometimes I have ideas for music, physical products, or video game design. However, I'm not a musician, product designer, or game developer. And the problem is, my brain won't let go of these ideas.
My greatest frustration as a creative is having ideas that I have little hope of seeing become a reality. These ideas nag at me. As soon as I think they're going, something stokes the embers and the flame reignites. Again and again.
I hope I'm the only one who has to deal with the torment of inadequacy to see your visions realized. But I doubt I'm the only one. For those who share my pain, you are not alone. Let's build community together and help each other bring our wild dreams into reality.
